An ambulance arrived shortly after 3 p.m UK time, and Arday was pronounced dead at the scene. He was <span>found in his home<\/span><span>, according to <\/span><span><i>GBNews<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c<\/span>At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious,\u201d a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said. \u201cThe case is being investigated by officers from the Met<span>\u2019<\/span>s Central South Command Unit. A file will be prepared for the coroner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recent investigations by independent writers, smaller local outlets, and high-profile publications found evidence of academic misconduct throughout Arday\u2019s publications, including extensive plagiarism. Additional coverage cast doubt or disproved significant claims Arday had made about his personal achievements, including his charitable efforts and his athletic endeavors. The <i>Atlantic<\/i> <span>reported<\/span> that Arday\u2019s memoir, released this month, contains \u201cdisturbing inconsistencies\u201d with his previous claims.<\/p>\n<p><span><span>National Review <\/span>reported<\/span> in August that Arday had falsely claimed on his official faculty page that he was a visiting professor at The Ohio State University in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion; Ohio State University had no record of him as an employee, and its DEI office shuttered in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>In response to extensive coverage of dishonesty in Arday\u2019s academic work and public commentary, the University of Cambridge announced on August 5 that it opened an investigation \u201cfollowing new information about Professor Arday<span>\u2019<\/span>s academic qualifications and honorary appointments.\u201d Later that day, Arday announced his resignation.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/americanhousingtransition.com\/?p=398\">WNBA Presidents Won\u2019t Rule Out Male Participation, Condemn \u2018Bad-Faith\u2019 Critics<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSadly, the years since my appointment have also been marked by an unrelenting level of public scrutiny and personal attack,\u201d Arday <span>said in his resignation letter<\/span>, dated August 5. \u201cWhile criticism is an inevitable part of academic life, what I have experienced has gone far beyond scholarly disagreement.
