Arrabaca was also in possession of an air-soft rifle, a hammer, a machete, axes, knives, and fireworks. He was carrying his belongings in cart bearing a sign that read, \u201cICE Off Our streets.\u201d As he was being arrested, Arrabaca yelled derogatory things about ICE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is an anti-American, anti-government extremist,\u201d James Barnacle FBI assistant director in charge said during a Monday afternoon press conference.<\/p>\n<p>Three people, a civilian and two federal employees, sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Arrabaca served in the Army from 2001 to 2005 as a mechanic repairing Patriot Missile systems.<\/p>\n<p>In his post-arrest interview, Arrabaca admitted to targeting the building and said he was willing to hurt \u2014 even kill \u2014 federal employees and citizens who were by the building at the time of his attack.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/americanhousingtransition.com\/?p=311\">Dominican Nuns Sue New York over Assisted Suicide Law<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Arrabaca follows X accounts from New York City Antifa and Antifa affiliated groups, is vocally pro-Palestine, supported Luigi Mangione, and called Eugenics \u201cSo American\u201d that Adolf Hitler simply copied the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The federal building Arrabaca targeted has been the site of numerous anti-ICE protests in the past. It is also at the center of an ongoing lawsuit filed by its detainees against the Trump administration for what they see as unsafe conditions and insufficient access to legal counsel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe abhorrent treatment of immigrants at 26 Federal Plaza is illegal and it must stop,\u201d New York Attorney General Letitia James said in an August 2025 press release. \u201cNo one should be held in horrendous conditions for days in unfit and unsafe facilities.
