Alvarez is believed to be the ringleader of the group that planned the attack, according to officials, while four other co-conspirators were also arrested over the weekend in Ohio, Missouri, and California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The FBI alleges Alvarez <\/span><span>was responsible for organizing the thwarted attack, which involved a multi-part plan to target buildings near the event with explosive-laden drones in an attempt to force a mass evacuation that would send crowds toward a p<\/span><span>re-staged sniper team. The would-be attackers then <\/span><span>allegedly planned to storm the White House gate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Alvarez, who operated under the name \u201cShepherd\u201d online, allegedly \u201cused a Signal chat to direct <\/span><span>staging locations, sniper and drone positions, escape routes and communications protocols,\u201d according to court documents. He instructed the others involved in the plot \u2014 police say as many as 23 people were involved in the chat planning the attack \u2014 to <\/span><span>obtain explosive-capable drones, specifically instructing them to get their hands on \u201ca<\/span><span>s many and as deadly as we can get.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Now DHS says Alvarez, who is facing federal charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds, entered the United States on a B2 visitor visa and failed to depart before it expired in December 2001. He was later granted DACA status by the Obama administration in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer for Alvarez.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country. He was the ringleader of a failed terror attack targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House,\u201d acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. \u201cHe and his co-conspirators now face charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds. He will face justice and swiftly be removed from our country.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One suspect told investigators the group\u2019s motive was to target \u201ccapitalist elites,\u201d \u201cbillionaires\u201d or politicians who received donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, according to Fox News.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/americanhousingtransition.com\/?p=184\">FTC Sues Trans Medical Group for Misleading Guidance on Gender Transition for Minors<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The FBI first learned of the group\u2019s plans on June 10. The parents of <span>19-year-old Tycen Proper reportedly called deputies in Knox County, Ohio, to their home to express concern about their son\u2019s collection of firearms and tactical gear. Proper allegedly spent $3,000 of his \u201cgraduation money\u201d to purchase ammunition, guns, extra magazines and other items for the planned attack. The parents advised authorities that he had been communicating with a group of people online who identified as ex-military and Christian, and shared \u201cultra-religious and anti-government\u201d views.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Deputies ultimately arrested Proper, who then allegedly admitted he had been working with the group online to plan an attack on the UFC event.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities would go on to also arrest Alvarez; <span>Bryan Omar Roa and Michael Alan Thomas of California; and Daniel K. Eskridge in Missouri.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Eskridge\u2019s wife allegedly told investigators that her husband\u00a0<\/span><span>described himself as a recruiter for the group and that he had been collecting <\/span><span>tactical gear, including a rifle, ammunition and other equipment, in recent months, according to court documents. He also built a shooting range on his property in the weeks leading up to his arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The FBI and U.S. Secret Service said their \u201cstrong working relationship\u201d helped prevent the alleged attack.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe FBI and U.S. Secret Service are proud of our strong working relationship,\u201d a spokesperson for the FBI and U.S. Secret Service said on Tuesday. \u201cThis investigation highlights that continuous partnership and could not have happened without the great work and coordination between our two agencies.
