Illegal Immigrant Teen Convicted of Groping Female Classmates in Virginia Has Been Deported
A Fairfax County High School student who was in the country illegally has been deported to his native El Salvador after he was convicted of groping several female classmates, the Department of Homeland Security said Wednesday.

Israel Flores Ortiz was previously convicted on nine counts of misdemeanor assault. He was found not guilty on three other counts, and another charge against him was dropped.
He was sentenced to 360 days in prison in April, but was required to serve only 135 days of his sentence after receiving credit for time served.
“This groper is GONE,” DHS said in a social-media post. “Israel Flores-Ortiz, an illegal alien who groped multiple high school girls in Fairfax County, VA, was DEPORTED to El Salvador yesterday.”
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson previously said officers with the agency had arrested Flores-Ortiz on August 31 following his release from the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
“Flores-Ortiz had been in the FCADC since March 25, serving his sentence for sexually assaulting nine high-school students,” the spokesperson told 7News. “On Aug. 10, a Justice Department immigration judge ordered Flores-Ortiz removed from the United States. On Sept. 8, he was removed from our country and sent home to El Salvador.”
At least one dozen female students accused Flores Ortiz of grabbing them between their legs. His public defender previously attempted to argue the incidents were a joke and dismissed the crimes as “butt grabbing.” She requested a nine-day sentence for the illegal immigrant’s crimes.

Flores Ortiz, who was 18 years old at the time of his trial, was charged as an adult. However, his case was adjudicated in juvenile court because of his and the victims’ ages.
In Virginia, illegal immigrants are able to attend public high school until the age of 22 at taxpayers’ expense. This is how Flores Ortiz, who entered the United States in 2024 under former President Joe Biden’s open border policies, attended Fairfax County High School. He was a junior when the incidents took place.
At the time, the situation sparked an investigation from the Department of Education. It was one of many investigations the DOE launched into Northern Virginia-area schools.
Fairfax Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano was under fire for the Flores Ortiz scandal, as it was seen as just one of many situations in which an illegal immigrant wreaked havoc across his jurisdiction. While Descano has described Fairfax County as “the safest large jurisdiction in the country,” under his watch, many illegal immigrants were either not prosecuted or received light sentences for their crimes.
During Flores Ortiz’s trial, DHS said agents would be on standby to collect and deport the high schooler if local officials failed to sentence Flores Ortiz for his crimes.
“Today, Flores-Ortiz will be sentenced. If Fairfax County’s sanctuary politicians choose to release this predator back into our communities, @ICEgov stands ready to take him into custody and deport this sexual deviant,” DHS previously wrote.
